It's been a bit since I've posted...well, what can I say, I've been a little busy.
Work has been busy - I have my companies big annual meeting coming up in mid-September and I've been hard at work planning away.
Dada has been busy - Fence company has taken off and he is lining up job after job after job. Way to go babe!! Make that money so Mama can stay at home with little bambinos, keep the house clean, and have wonderful home cooked meals prepared every night for when you come home...we can pretend we live in the 50's and it's my "job."
Will has been busy - Ummm, anyone who's chased around am almost 2 year old knows what I'm talking about.
Mama's been busy - My almost 2 year old finally turns the corner tomorrow to being an official 2 year old. So what does this mean for Mama? It means hours upon hours of brainstorming ideas and then executing said ideas for what will be his most memorable birthday EVER!! Yes, I do realize he will probably not remember this party...but I will. And I want to make it the best that it can be, because that's what all anal- crazy-overbearing mothers do. Plus I'm a planner who loves to use their creative side when they get the chance...so this is my perfect opportunity to have a little fun with his party. Party is a train theme...because he's simply obsessed right now. Can I please tell you how much you can do with a train themed party - Opportunities are ENDLESS!! I'm seriously having to draw the line.
Dada's been more busy - Because of my crazy party planning antics I have to torture my husband just a little by involving him in the whole process. So I make him lists. Long, meaningful, pain in the ass lists. Here's what his latest "Your jobs to complete before Will's party" list:
1. Weed front flower beds.
2. Kill all ants and pooper scoop the whole back yard.
3. Plan, purchase, and plant items to make the landscaping in the front of the house look presentable.
4. Mow all 6 acres and keep it that way before the party.
5. Pressure wash the house, patios, driveway, and deck.
6. Repair the deck where needed.
7. Finish outside shower area.
8. Clean and organize garage.
9. Pick up all party stuff from plantation and rental place.
10. Fix pavers at the bottom of the stairs off the back deck.
Poor thing. I really do appreciate all he does. And it's not like I didn't have a list that was just as long with as many projects. If you have an event at your house it's the perfect opportunity to finally get caught up on all the little things that you plan on one day accomplishing. So, in turn, about a month pre-party we all suffer with my insane little lists.
Anyway, this leads me to what will probably be my next few posts...ideas, planning and executing a train themed party.
I'm trying to take as many pictures of the process and I can't wait to find the time to share it with you! My fingers are crossed everything will turn out the way I have it envisioned in my head...but I guess we'll find out.
